Big Time Gaming Slots: Free Demos, Games and Review
Inventors of Megaways. Est. 2011.
Big Time Gaming created the mechanic that the entire industry has been licensing and imitating since 2016. Their own 16-title library is the original and unreplicated gold standard of the format they invented.
About Big Time Gaming
Big Time Gaming was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2011 and spent its first five years producing technically competent but commercially unremarkable content. The company's trajectory changed permanently in 2016 with the internal development of the Megaways mechanic. On each spin, each reel generates a random number of symbols, between two and seven, with the total ways to win calculated as the product of all reel symbol counts. A six-reel game where each reel shows seven symbols produces 117,649 ways to win on a single spin. The variance was intentional: Megaways games produce wildly different way-counts across consecutive spins, with bonus rounds typically locking the maximum configuration.
Bonanza (2016), the first commercial Megaways release, established every convention the format would follow: the 6-reel grid with a horizontal reel above, the scatter-triggered free spins with an unlimited multiplier, and the visual language of mining and treasure that BTG would revisit multiple times. The game is still one of the most-played slots in regulated markets globally. Extra Chilli (2018) added a Gamble feature that let players trade free spins for a chance at more. White Rabbit Megaways (2018) pushed the technical ceiling with an expanding reel system. Each release extended what the mechanic could do without altering its fundamental identity.
BTG's decision to sub-license Megaways to third-party studios from 2019 onward transformed the industry. More than fifty other developers paid for the right to build Megaways games, creating a format that now spans thousands of titles across every regulated market. Evolution Gaming acquired BTG in 2021, adding the Megaways IP to the world's largest regulated gaming group. The 16-title SlotVault library represents BTG's first-party output: the original implementations of a mechanic that half the industry now builds on.

Big Time Gaming Volatility Profile
Big Time Gaming's library sits at 75% high volatility, the second-highest ratio on SlotVault after Hacksaw Gaming. This is a function of the Megaways mechanic itself: the variable way-count system produces inherently high variance. Their 19% medium-volatility segment covers select licensed IP titles calibrated for broader appeal.
